For entry and quarantine regulations please see auswaertiges-amt.de/en/visa-service/EinreiseUndAufenthalt. There is a travel ban from countries affected by coronavirus variants of concern. However, there are currently NO countries affected by variants of concerns.
Here we summarize our understanding of the rules:
Visitors from EU member states as well as Iceland, Norway, Switzerland and Liechtenstein can enter Germany with and without being vaccinated. In case these visitors are not vaccinated a recent (24h) negative antigen rapid test result or a recent (72h) negative test result obtained using nucleic acid amplification technology (e.g. PCR, PoC- PCR) must be presented. Visitors from all other countries need to be fully vaccinated.
Only vaccines approved by European Commission are accepted for entering Germany. As of 28.10.21, the following vaccines are approved: Corminaty (Biontec), Janssen (Janssen-Cilag), Spikevax (Moderna), Vaxzevria (AstraZeneca). Visitors from some countries have to register prior to entering Germany at einreiseanmeldung.de . We recommend everyone to go to the website. In case you are not required to register the website will inform you prior to entering personal information. Registration is free of charge.
